More Than Me (Ghost lines 077A)
Created as an accompaniment piece to my written thesis work (βMore Than Meβ, Rave Culture as Social Practice: An Examination of its Political Underpinnings and its Contemporary Legacies). More than Me (Ghost lines 077A) is an audio collage constructed live. Records from my own collection played in short blasts into a guitar delay pedal (with decay set long). The choice to use only my own records was a rejection of backwards-looking nostalgia for rave culture and a celebration of forward-thinking electronic music of the moment. The audio of the performance was recorded and cut as a vinyl dubplate.
